Sebasco Harbor is a small, quiet harbor. With a location (see chart below) that's not quite New Meadows River and not quite Casco Bay, it's the perfect "quick stop" for small to mid size boating passing along this part of the Maine Coast who want to partake of the luxury and comfort of a Maine visitor's icon - Sebasco Harbor Resort. Learn more about the resort on our Sebasco Harbor Resort page.

(Boaters who would rather be on their own in the quiet of a totally protected gunk hole should consider The Basin, only a short distance away.)

Entering Sebasco Harbor

Sebasco Harbor Resort has posted new harbor entry instructions on their website, here they are: (Do check the latest charts for up-to-date information).

"The entrance to Sebasco Harbor is straightforward. After clearing Dry Ledges on your starboard while heading north, begin a gentle sweep to the right while aiming for the center of the harbor. You do not have to round the red USCG flashing buoy marking the eastern side of the New Meadows River. There is a newly positioned green USCG can marking the western side of the approach to Sebasco Harbor. Leaving this green can to port, proceed up the center of the harbor entrance. Be alert for the unmarked and sometimes submerged ledges that jut out on both sides of the approach."

Be careful entering the harbor - like many places on the coast, there's plenty of ledge just waiting to catch an inattentive boater.

Mooring and Anchoring

There is some limited anchoring in the harbor - your best is to pick up a mooring by calling the resort on channel 9. Guest moorings at Sebasco are available, as is boat launch service June - Labor Day. The mooring fees are $30/night.

Restaurants

Besides Sebasco's excellent restaurant (see our Sebasco Harbor Resort article), you may also want to try Holbrooks which is just a couple of miles up the new Meadows River in Cundy's Harbor.
